One, if by land, and two, if by sea
Based on the title of this post, can you guess where we are traveling to next? If you have been out of school awhile you may be thinking “Oh I know this one!!!” but can’t quite remember. I will give you some hints, it’s famous for a “tea party,” Paul Revere, and the Green Monster. Still nothing? It’s Boston! We are headed to Boston, Massachusetts this weekend.
The hubs and I will be traveling with our favorite couple. đŸ™‚ It’s a short trip; arriving Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday night. Lots of history to pack into 2 1/2 days, but we are pros at the condensed travel thing now haha
Weather
Cold y’all! It’s going to be cold. Lows in the 20s and highs in the 30s. Partially cloudy.
Where We Are Staying
I am really excited about this hotel. I hope we get a waterfront view, but I’m sure there is an extra charge for scenery haha Check out their photo gallery here. Both interior and exterior photos are gorgeous.
What We Are Doing
One of the plans is to see the Boston Public Library. It was the first large free municipal library in the US and now holds 23 million items. Insert wide-eyed emoji I’ve heard it is a popular venue for events like weddings too. I know they give tours, but I haven’t read up on it yet.
Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox and the Green Monster (37 feet 2 inches), is a must. Also known as “America’s Most Beloved Ballpark.” Ballpark tours are available daily, year-round.
I am excited about about the history. There is so much of it on the East Coast, especially in Boston. Massachusetts was one of the earliest American colonies, the American Revolution, the Boston Tea Party, battle at Bunker Hill, the list goes on and on. The Freedom Trail is 2.5 miles long and lead to 16 nationally significant historic sites.
