4th of July Outfit Inspiration

The first day of summer has passed and the 4th of July is right around the corner. I think the 4th is one of my favorite holidays which is ironic because as a child I hated fireworks. This could have had something to do with one landing and going off next to me when I was 4 or 5 years old.

When the hubs and I lived in The Woodlands we hosted an annual 4th of July party. It was so fun to get family, friends, and neighbors together, have a potluck with BBQ, and cause a ruckus with countless fireworks.

I always looked forward to planning the party and also picking out a festive outfit. I have shared a huge selection of red, white, and blue items in the widget below. If you haven’t found the perfect outfit yet, maybe something here will inspire you! I’m really loving the items shown below.

What are your plans for the 4th? I haven’t figured mine out just yet. Until next post…xoxo Becca

Flats Friday

You know there is a story behind the title of this post. When I was an admissions counselor I would travel to high schools and community colleges to talk to students and parents. It was important to have a professional, polished look and for me, that meant heels. By the end of the week my feet were exhausted from standing behind my recruitment table for hours each day. Which meant Friday was more casual and almost always included shoes with low or no heel. I would travel back to my office on Friday afternoons and the office’s student workers were not used to seeing me in this type of shoe and began calling it “Flats Friday.” A new tradition was born lol

Today I am rocking flats! Mostly because the hubs and I attended a friend’s wedding last night and there may or may not have been a toe vs cowboy boot incident. I thought I would share a couple of cute office appropriate flats you could add to your closet and also wear

Do you have plans for Father’s Day? The hubs and I will be headed out of town tomorrow to spend some time with the family. Then a low key Sunday for just the two of us 🙂 We have decided to start a 30-day challenge to not eat out. For 2017 we cut out soda and fast food and have done really well with this. Now to continue to eat healthier (and save money) we picked this as our next challenge and will likely spend most of Sunday menu planning/meal prepping. I am kind of excited because we do tend to fall into that cycle of eating out when we haven’t planned ahead or are to lazy to cook.
Until next post…xoxo Becca
