If you haven’t been keeping up, here’s a recap of products we love from the last year:
In all honesty I didn’t realize I would do this for Baby G’s whole first year. I wrote the initial post for a few friends who asked what they should put on their baby registry. Turns out I created a baby registry list for a whole year!
Baby Smock with Long Sleeves
The more Baby G explores food, the messier it seems to get. A bib is great, but between the smashed avocado and blueberries, I was tired of cleaning his clothes after he ate. That’s where this long sleeve baby smock comes in handy. It covers him completely and I can easily wipe it down after every meal. Plus the patterns are fun!
NUK Simply Natural Learner Cup
While he’s learning to eat, we are also trying to transition away from bottles (sloooowly!). It took him a while to learn to keep up with the amount of liquid he was sucking out of this cup. In the beginning, more of it poured out of his mouth and onto him than he swallowed. He’s gotten better and loves to grab this cup in between shoveling food in his mouth. I also haven’t experienced the cup leaking so that’s a plus.
Rubbermaid Brilliance Leak-Proof Food Storage
Not a baby specific item, but it’s note worthy. I had been eyeing these for a few years before purchasing. They are pretty pricey when you compare getting a ton of cheap plastic ones at the grocery store. Because this is leak-proof and air tight, they are perfect for the foods I prep for Baby G. Even avocado stays fresh longer compared to any other container I have used.
Instant Pot
Another non-baby specific item, but I find myself using this to prep food. We owned our Instant Pot for a few years and I thought I would use it more than I do. When I started prepping food for Baby G I started reaching for the Instant Pot more and more because I can drop a whole bunch of produce into a steamer basket and steam it for a couple of minutes. I start the Instant Pot and can walk away to tackle something else while it does its thing.
Baby Einstein Discovering Music Activity Table
A friend passed this down from her babies. Besides the fact that Baby G LOVES music, this activity table is his jam. As soon as I put him on the floor he crawl right to it. At this point he likes it more than his jumper.
Let’s talk tech! I realized I use these apps all the time and have never talked about them. From the 0-3 month post I shared the Nanit video baby monitor. It comes with an app so we can check in on Baby G from anywhere. This is great when the hubs is working and wants to see him. From day 1 we also started using Baby Tracker. You can record feedings, diaper changes, sleep patterns, and growth. It’s great for saving data to share with doctors. During newborn foggy brain it also kept me on track with when to feed next and when breastfeeding, which side to use! The last app we use is FamilyAlbum. Early on we realized family members were snapping pictures of Baby G that we never saw. The best thing about this app is your can add contributors and they can add their photos too! Unlimited storage, no ads, and it’s free!
I will wrap up here. I feel like I was very wordy this post. Until next post…xoxo Becca
