This week has been challenging as I (and everyone I work with) has been trying to catch up from a week away because of Hurricane Harvey. This week was especially hard since my department saw the first class day of half of our courses. That means lots of paperwork and inventory and questions. My position and various responsibilities kept me in and out of the office plus juggling non-work related projects. I’m certainly glad it is Friday and I’m thankful for surviving the week! Hey y’all, this is real life!
I know it’s hard to think about fall when it’s still mostly hot outside in Texas. I will say, the last few days have seen some really nice temperatures though. As you probably know, LOFT runs great sales so I wanted to get ahead of the game by sharing my favorite items from their new arrivals. Keep checking their website for sale notifications.
There are a lot of great patterns and colors coming out for the fall. Between cute dresses and sweaters, I am ready to throw on some booties and a cozy sweater! Some of my favorite items to transition into fall are light scarves (infinity scarf), a pattern created with fall colors (mixed media sweater), and plaid (wrap skirt, smocked blouse).
A blogger I have followed for years was on vacation at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada. This place has officially been added to my travel bucket list! It looks SO beautiful. A breathe of fresh air. Part of me wants to go ahead and book a room for next August/September. The hubs and I have the travel bug and I don’t think it’s going away any time soon.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Until next post…xoxo Becca
You know there is a story behind the title of this post. When I was an admissions counselor I would travel to high schools and community colleges to talk to students and parents. It was important to have a professional, polished look and for me, that meant heels. By the end of the week my feet were exhausted from standing behind my recruitment table for hours each day. Which meant Friday was more casual and almost always included shoes with low or no heel. I would travel back to my office on Friday afternoons and the office’s student workers were not used to seeing me in this type of shoe and began calling it “Flats Friday.” A new tradition was born lol
Today I am rocking flats! Mostly because the hubs and I attended a friend’s wedding last night and there may or may not have been a toe vs cowboy boot incident. I thought I would share a couple of cute office appropriate flats you could add to your closet and also wear
